TAG Tool Hire has opened a second depot in Leeds complementing its existing location in Halifax.

Situated on a trading estate in the Lower Wortley area to the west of the city centre, the move reflects growing demand in the region.

“The premises are ideal, being a decent sized unit with good yard space and it’s right on the M621 with easy access to the city centre and the ring road to reach other areas,” Director Alex Brownridge told me.

“We’ve found ourselves going further and further afield from Halifax as existing customers want us to supply them with the equipment and service they rely on.

“We’ve been attracting more business in areas like York, Harrogate and Wetherby, and we’re in and out of Leeds all the time. With our new depot we can win more customers ranging from tradesmen and contractors to DIY users.”

TAG has been investing in new equipment for both depots, with recent additions including two Kubota U17-5 mini excavators with an auto-idle facility for lower emissions. A new plant transporter with a low-level loading platform from LCVT has also been added for the Leeds operation.

“We’re certainly seeing no slowdown in demand generally,” said Alex. “There’s no downturn here and business in Halifax has remained consistent. We’re looking forward to developing the same activity in Leeds.”

Alex said that he and his co-director Graham Jagger are keen to develop TAG Tool Hire further, and have their eyes on future depot openings.
